We are ending our Summer Themes with this week and next week as "Young Authors". We have artwork of several favorite children's books through out our hallways and a wonderful scholastic book fair as well. One of our favorite parts of book fair week, is borrowing books all week long as our own private library! It's been a great preview of new books we will be getting for our classrooms.
The children are also acting out stories, dressing as their favorite book characters, and writing their own stories. Parents will be coming this next week to read to their child's class and we are really looking forward to that! This past week we had Dr. Jan Hayes from O'More College Publishing come and read her story of "The Spilt Tongue Sparrow". She was a wonderful story teller as she read her book with a special bird chirp instrument that she let the Pre-K class keep. Here are a couple pictures of that special visit and our hallways this week.
