Each year, our local Fire Department is so wonderful to come and visit us during Fire Prevention Week. They bring the truck, allow the children to sit up in the truck, and demonstrate the safe uniform and hat that they wear. Their main goal is to teach the children to not be afraid of them in their fire resistant suit. They teach the children what to do in the case of a fire in their home, which includes for them to go to the firefighter, instead of being afraid of the uniform. Each child also was given a fire helmet to take home along with other fire safety and prevention materials for each family. Thank you Franklin Fire Department for all that you do!!
